DYNAMIC TORQUE VECTORING ALL-WHEEL DRIVE
RAV4 Trail and Limited (gas only) feature Dynamic Torque Vectoring All-Wheel Drive with Rear Driveline Disconnect. A Toyota first, the system can send up to 50% of engine torque to the rear wheels, plus distribute it to the left or right rear wheel for exceptional control. When it isn’t needed, the system ingeniously transmits all driving force to the front wheels -- reducing energy loss, improving fuel efficiency, and smoothing out the ride.
STOP & START ENGINE SYSTEM
RAV4 LE and XLE feature a Stop & Start engine system that helps to improve fuel economy, especially in city driving with its many stops and starts. The system automatically stops the engine while the vehicle is stopped temporarily such as at traffic signals. The engine automatically restarts when you release the brake pedal. There’s no extra steps that you have to take, just fewer stops for fuel along the way.
